Helene Udy

Helene Udy (born November 1, 1962) is an American actress and director. She is perhaps best known for her role as Myra Bing on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Udy was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of Mya Pilpoul, a former military officer, and Dr. John Udy, a city planner, university professor, painter and upright bass player. She is the sister of Claudia Udy. She was raised in Montreal, Canada. Udy began her career as a child actor in Canadian movies and television shows. She graduated from Westmount Highschool in 1977. After studying at Montreal's Dome Theater school and pursued a degree in film communications at Montreal's Dawson College while continuing her acting career in Canadian movies before moving to New York for a 1983 stint on the soap opera As the World Turns in the role of Frannie. She is known among Star Trek fans for playing Pel in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode Rules of Acquisition. And is also known to horror movie fans for her roles in My Bloody Valentine, Dead Zone, Pin and Katie Bird Certifiable Crazy Person, among others.
