Review

Bizarre as it sounds, Olympia tells the wacky story of a Mexican soap opera star (Olympia) who heads north to try her hand as an Olympic javelin thrower. Her trainer, a former taco-costume character, falls in love. Nuttiness ensues. A low-budget film shot in Texas, Olympia has moments of hilarity but is saddled by a plot of little consequence. Olympia's journey is never entirely serious, saddled further by a slapstick scenario. Her trainer (Jason Andrews) ostensibly learns about life and love... but it never really comes across on the screen. So-so at best.
