Bachelor Party (1984)

Description[from Freebase]

Bachelor Party is a 1984 comedy film directed by Neal Israel, written by Israel and Pat Proft, and starring Tom Hanks, Adrian Zmed, William Tepper, and Tawny Kitaen. The film chronicles a bachelor party being thrown by a group of friends for their friend Rick Gassko (Hanks) on the eve of his wedding and whether or not he can resist the temptation of being unfaithful to his fiancée Debbie (Kitaen). The origins of the film came from an actual bachelor party thrown by producer Ron Moler and a group of friends for fellow producer Bob Israel. In fact, several members of the cast and crew involved with the production of the movie were at that party when the idea began to take shape. Party-animal Rick Gassko (Tom Hanks), who makes his living as a school bus driver, decides to finally settle down and marry his girlfriend Debbie Thompson (Tawny Kitaen). After gathering his buddies to give them the news, his shocked friends (led by Adrian Zmed), decide to throw him the bachelor party to end all bachelor parties.

Review

Tom Hanks's greatest role ever? It could just be Bachelor Party, which dared to introduce the thought of mule love in 1984. It's been said before by others -- but once you run across this movie playing on late night cable, you can't help but watch it to the end.
