Escape from Alcatraz (1979)

Review

Our man Clint got another peek at San Francisco as Frank Morris, the legendary criminal who is believed to have been one of only three men who, well, escaped from Alcatraz. While it’s pretty low-budget, the movie is quite authentic and was filmed at the actual prison. Eastwood is dour and gruff, yet he’s quite engaging as the unlikely hero. And while a few things have been obviously upped for drama’s sake, the movie is still quite good on the whole, and definitely worth a look for any fan of history.
